The leadership of the Chapter consists of Officers and a Board of Directors. Officers are elected every year, while Directors serve 3 years. The duties associated with each office are described in the following sections. Please consider putting your name forward for a position! Many hands make light work. Nominations are solicited in the spring, with elections held once per year in June. The Chapter operating year is July through June, in line with the AOG. Newly elected officers and directors assume the role on July 1.

President
The President presides at meetings and dinners of the chapter and is a member of the Board of Directors. He or she signs
all written contracts and obligations of the chapter. He or she nominates the chair of committees established by the Board and provides for the appointment of other committee members. He or she also performs any other duties that the Board of Directors assigns. The term of office is one year, with unlimited re-elections possible.
Vice-President
The Vice-President does whatever the President asks her or him to do and fills in for the President when needed. The term of office is one year, with unlimited re-elections possible.
Secretary
The Secretary is a really important position, with many defined duties associated with keeping track of the activities of the Chapter. A specific listing is included at the bottom of this page, but is pretty much what you'd expect: minutes, documentation, etc. The term of office is one year, with unlimited re-elections possible.
Treasurer
The Treasurer keeps the books and accounts for inflow and outflow. The Secretary and the Treasurer work closely together. The term of office is one year, with unlimited re-elections possible.
Networking Coordinator
The Networking Coordinator maintains the membership roster, liaises with AOG central, and solicits sponsorships. It is more work than it sounds like, particularly with people moving into and out of the area regularly. The term of office is one year, with unlimited re-elections possible.
Board Member
There are 10 members of the Board, one of whom is designated as Chair. Five members constitutes a quorum. The Board of Directors are responsible for the management and governance of the Chapter and have fiduciary responsibility for the operations of the Chapter; the Officers execute actions associated with the mission of the Chapter. In a very real sense, the Officers of the Chapter work for the Board. The Chair organizes and directs the activities of the Board. Board members serve for three years and may be re-elected. There are no term limits.
Specific duties of the Secretary and Treasurer, as described in the Chapter Handbook:
§5.7. The Secretary shall be responsible for the following:
5.7.a. Keeping the minutes of the chapter and of the Board of Directors.
5.7.b. Notifying members of the affairs of the chapter, as determined by the Board.
5.7.c. Notifying members of the Board of their election.
5.7.d. Conducting the correspondence, keeping the records, preparing necessary reports, including the annual report, and keeping the seal of the chapter in the event that it is incorporated.
5.7.e. Collecting dues and dinner assessments.
5.7.f. Turning over to the Treasurer as promptly as possible all funds collect- ed, with a statement as to the individuals from whom collected and for what purpose.
5.7.g. Publishing the list of officers of the chapter, the Board of Directors, the By-laws, the roster of members, and other items.
§5.8. The Treasurer shall be the custodian of the funds of the chapter and shall be responsible for the following:
5.8.a. Disbursing the funds to defray expenses authorized by the chapter or the Board of Directors.
5.8.b. Reporting the status of the funds at each meeting of the Board.
5.8.c. Having his accounts audited under the direction of the Board in ad- vance of the Annual Business Meeting and at such other times as the Board may direct.
5.8.d. Presenting an annual financial report to the Board of incorporation in the report of the Annual Business Meeting.
§5.9. In the event of the temporary absence of the Secretary or Treasurer, his duties may be performed by another member of the chapter appointed by the President.
